Raw foods for a zestier, healthier life!

More students grabbing fruits, veggies instead of junk food

More and more schools are moving away from the junk food offerings that have long been standard lunch fare for so many years. And kids seem to be excited.

In an Associated Press newswire article Jan. 21, More students shun cafeteria junk food, Martha Conklin, an associate professor at Penn State University who researches school nutrition programs, says: “If you present these healthy offerings to children, they may turn them down the first time, but you can’t give up. Children will adapt. Choice is important, but they can make those selections from healthy offerings.”

The article says that interest in french fries is falling, while interest in carrots is “skyrocketing.”

We’re excited to see that youngsters are starting to eat more healthfully!
